Evidence‐Based Practice Implementation in Acute Care Essay

Medical staff need clear policies to follow in both day-to-day operations and long-term planning of interventions. This last week, I've learned a lot about health policies and how they fit into the daily operations of my acute care facility. I have focused my research on the most crucial health insurance provisions. An example of a health policy is the Affordable Care Act, which regulates the delivery of healthcare to specific populations (Sommers et al., 2017). The relevant regulations govern the rules for admission and discharge, as well as the algorithms for interaction between care units. Providing high-quality treatment to the public depends in large part on professionals being able to make strategic use of these regulations and incorporate their required provisions into their own practice.

Adherence to health policies is critical for long-term team leadership because it provides an opportunity for more responsible and efficient activity coordination. Furthermore, these rules are supplementary resources for enforcing evidence-based practice approaches (Shuman et al., 2018). According to the authors (Shuman et al., 2018), clinicians can improve internal communication and patient outcomes by using strategic planning and intervention procedures. Real-world examples of these effects include fewer patients being readmitted, better lines of communication within the workplace, and higher levels of team output. What I've learned this week about implementing appropriate rules in acute care settings has given me a crystal-clear picture of the task that lies ahead of me. Therefore, it is vital for medical personnel of any profile and level of professional training to do research on this topic.
